MentorMe® Daycare
"Love the Kids!"
Our Policy
In order to make our relationship as enjoyable as possible the following are some mutual beneficial requirements that are necessary to assure that there are no misunderstandings between either party, that each party is aware of the requirements, and that these requirements are carried out in a businesslike manner.
Our Discipline & Guidance
MentorMe® Daycare has a philosophy of positive guidance, incorporating creative teaching and involvement to help children develop self-discipline and inner control over their actions. It is based on mutual respect and an understanding of children's needs and development. Positive guidance uses redirection, verbalization of misunderstandings, consistency, and acceptance of feelings, firmness, and fairness. Children are encouraged to express their feelings verbally as well as to discuss and resolve conflicts rather than 'act out' their feelings. In certain situations, a brief 'quiet time' may be used to allow a child to calm down and recover self-control before resuming group activities. This time is limited to no more than one minute per year of the child's age.
Children’s behavior is influenced by their overall development, their environment, and their caregivers. Each child differs in terms of his/her activity level, distractibility, and sensitivity. Children must learn to develop socially acceptable and appropriate behavior as they grow to maturity.
Our Belief
We believe
… that children thrive best when provided a safe and nurturing environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
… that each child is a unique individual who deserves to feel loved, cared for, and respected.
… that an effective curriculum is research based and incorporates a variety of educational theories while embracing the whole child and allowing for hands on experiential learning.
… that a partnership between parents and caregivers is essential to a positive childcare experience.
… that children learn best when surrounded by caregivers who are sensitive to the needs of each child, well educated, and highly experienced.
Our Curriculum
Our goals are to give children a sense of self worth by helping them develop at their own individual pace while learning basic skills. We want the children to feel confident and secure enough to explore and grow in a stimulating educational and social environment.
The development and training of MentorMe® Daycare personnel is a continuous process which includes attending workshops, listening to guest speakers and frequent discussion. Personnel are encouraged to visit other programs and to take classes related to child development.
Children participate in a variety of individual and group activities designed to develop language and reading readiness skills enhancing physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth, skills and attitudes which will increase their ability to succeed in school.
